The other day I found an article titled, "The 5 Dirtiest Foods." Until then I had not given much consideration to "dirty" foods.
We all know eating healty foods promotes a healthy life. Perhaps you, too, will be suprised at what the article reported as "the five dirtiest foods."
#1 is EGGS: purchase only pasteurized eggs. And avoid any that have visible cracks.
#2 is PEACHES: The fuzzy cover of peaches appears to be excellent hiding place for lots of pesticides. Wise choice in peaches may be organic.
#3 is PRE-PACKAGED SALAD MIXES: The package is no assurance the leaves are clean. Wash them before eating.
#4 is MELONS: The outer rind can carry Salmonella or Shigella. Scrub melons with mild soap and water before slicing.
#5 is SCALLIONS: Open spaces become open doors to "dirt." Wash these thoroughly before cooking.
