Did you see the headline, "Taliban say US Reconciliation Offer 'Lunatic'"?

President Barak Obama ordered 21,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. Then he says he is offering an "honorable reconciliation."

The Taliban see foreign troops as occupation forces, much like the American colonies viewed the British troops more than 200 years ago. One very large difference is the religion that controls the Taliban. Their religion dictates that its members must spread the religion to every nation on earth. The Taliban are completely dedicated to their religion.

Taliban has no concept of democracy. Their religion dectates what they do, say, think, believe and how they behave. Every religion has its radical element. However, their religion wants all adherents to be radical. Adherents are commanded to spread the religion around the world. If unbelievers do not convert, they are to be executed.

Any Taliban member who takes a "moderate" stance toward the rest is viewed as having denied the faith. And the "faithful" put a contract on his head.

This information is readily available to the public, the media and the President. However, assimilating it seems to unacceptable to the press and the President.

The Taliban organization may be relatively new. However, the religion is about 1500 year old. And historical records are replete with militant groups and expressions of their religion. The current war in Afghanistan has been going on for eight years.

It seems the President is asking people to change their religion and their way of thinking in perhaps 10 years. Tell me, Who is insane?
